The Cozzia Zen 2, model CZ-645, is a 3D massage chair. Its rollers travel up and down your back and across it, and they also push forward out of the backrest, up to 3 inches.
Merit Home Furniture lists the Zen 2 at $6,649.00 before applicable taxes, sold through our Duncan store on Vancouver Island. That is $150 above the $6,499 Cozzia Canada suggests, and I'd sooner print the gap here than have it turn up later on a spec sheet.
What the Cozzia Zen 2 does that a 2D chair can't
The Cozzia Zen 2 adds depth to the roller. A 2D chair moves its rollers along a track at one fixed depth. A hard spot under the shoulder blade gets the same press as the flat of the back. On the Zen 2 the roller head can reach further in, and Cozzia sells it as a "3" Adjustable 3D" mechanism. If the jargon is new, here is what 3D means next to 2D, 4D and 5D.
The track is an L shape. Cozzia says it reaches "from your neck down to under your glutes", so the rollers carry on past the bend into the seat. A body scan runs first, then one of 16 programs: 12 automatic, 3 you set and save, and 1 spot mode. The six strokes are kneading, tapping, Swedish, rolling, shiatsu and clapping.
Among the seven Cozzia massage chairs on our site, the Zen 2 is the lowest priced with a 3D roller. The Radiance at $4,199, the Bliss ProFlex and the Fusion Pro below it all run 2D rollers. The Qi XE Pro Duo and Quantum above it are 4D and 5D.
Cozzia Zen 2 specifications, with the conflicting figures marked
These figures come from Cozzia Canada's CZ-645 page, the Zen 2 user manual and Cozzia's FAQ. Where two Cozzia sources disagree, the table prints the cautious figure and names the other.

Add the manual's spacing to the chair's footprint and the Zen 2 wants a patch of floor about 98 by 46 inches. That is roughly 8 feet from the wall into the room. Running cost is small: at 120 W, a 30-minute program uses 0.06 kWh. At BC Hydro's two residential tier prices that is 0.71 to 0.84 cents, or about $2.60 to $3.08 for a year of daily sessions.
Air massage on the Zen 2: where the 30 cells press
Air massage on the Zen 2 comes from 30 compression cells, bags that fill, squeeze and let go. Cozzia Canada lists them at the shoulders, seat, thighs, calves, knees and feet. The manual's diagram splits them into a group of 14 and a group of 16. Neither Cozzia page lists cells for the arms or hands.
The air matters more here than the count suggests, because the 3D roller stops at the seat. Below it, calves and feet get air pressure, a foot roller the manual describes as having a scraping action, and a heat pad in the leg rest. A second heat pad warms the back and seat.
Zen 2, Fusion Pro or Zen Duo: what each price step buys
The Zen 2 shares its $6,499 suggested retail with the Fusion Pro, yet at Merit the two sit $1,100 apart. One step up, the Zen Duo costs $3,150 more than the Zen 2.
Fusion Pro, $5,549
The Fusion Pro uses two 2D mechanisms, one high and one lower down, with 18 programs and 34 air cells. Heat covers the legs and lower back, not the seat. Cozzia Canada asks for 11 inches behind it, nearly twice the Zen 2's gap. It suits a buyer who values more air and a lower price over roller depth.
Zen Duo, $9,799
The Zen Duo carries a 3D mechanism in the back and a second 3D mechanism lower down, with 40 air cells and 2 years of labour cover instead of 1. It drops the seat heat, needs only 3.5 inches from the wall, and ships in two boxes of 270 lb and 47 lb. Read what the second mechanism adds before paying for it.
Are zero gravity massage chairs worth it on a chair like the Zen 2?
Zero gravity on a massage chair is a recline angle. The seat tips back until your knees sit higher than your hips, so more of your weight rests on the backrest the rollers press through. On the Zen 2 it is one button, beside a second button that lays the chair flat and a third that brings it home upright.
Cozzia pairs it with what it calls a wall saving design: the seat slides forward as it reclines. That is why the front clearance in the table above is larger than the gap behind the chair. Cozzia makes no medical claim for the position, and neither do I. Zero gravity is worth having, but the Radiance has it too, for $2,450 less. It isn't a reason on its own to buy the Zen 2. The 3D roller is.
Cozzia Zen 2 warranty, and who repairs one on the Island
The Cozzia Zen 2 warranty in Canada covers two years on parts and one on labour, which the manual words as "one-year in-home service". Parts ship free during that time. Every claim needs the serial number and a dated receipt, and the clock runs from the purchase date, not the delivery date.
The labour promise has an edge to it. Cozzia limits house calls to homes "in and around major metropolitan areas", and the manual repeats that limit for Canada. Nobody has yet confirmed which technician would drive to Duncan, Campbell River or Port Alberni. On any maker's warranty, Merit stands behind it, orders the parts and does the repair.
A floor or display model carries a prorated warranty, counted from the day the retailer first plugged it in, so ask for that date before buying one. SmartOne, Zucora's extended plan, runs 5 years and can be added to a Zen 2 the same way as to any other piece from our stores.
Can a clinic or spa buy a Zen 2?
A clinic or spa can buy one, but Cozzia's consumer warranty would not cover it. The manual excludes rental, business, commercial and institutional use. A treatment room or a staff lounge would leave the chair without the 2 years of parts cover.
Who should pass on the Cozzia Zen 2
Anyone who mainly wants calves and thighs worked hard. The roller ends at the seat, and the leg work is air, a foot roller and heat.
Anyone outside the weight and height figures in the table. Cozzia gives no fit promise past them.
Homes with tight access. The box is wide and heavy, per the specifications above. Measure the narrowest door and the tightest stair turn, and give us those numbers when you order. To shift the chair later, the manual says to lift the bottom and tip the backrest 45 degrees onto the rear castors.
Anyone with a health question first. Cozzia's manual says to consult a doctor before use with a pacemaker, a pregnancy, phlebitis or thrombosis, a raised clot risk, recent surgery, osteoporosis, diabetes or a spinal injury. It also advises no more than 5 minutes on one spot and no use within an hour of a meal. There is more on who should ask a doctor before a massage chair. Cozzia's FAQ adds one household note: run the chair from a power bar and unplug it between uses.

People ask which is the best massage chair in Canada. No one chair is; it depends on your height, your room and which part of you needs the work.
