Delivery and setup
We deliver across Vancouver Island, and delivery includes setting your furniture up in your home. When your order is ready we call to book a time that works for you, on our delivery schedule, Monday to Friday, 9 to 5.
Each Merit store sets its own delivery rates for the communities it serves. From our Duncan store, delivery across the Island is $150 and includes assembly. Salt Spring Island is our most common Gulf Islands run. The smaller islands are case by case: each trip is a full day for two drivers and a work truck, so we keep those for larger orders. Call the Duncan store for details. For the other stores, see the store page or ask when you call for your price: Duncan, Nanaimo, Campbell River and Port Alberni. The Cowichan Valley and the Island are spread out, but we are in the nearby communities almost every week.
Small items and pickup
- We don't mail pillows, protectors, sheets or other small items at this time. They can be picked up free at our Duncan store, 107 Ingram St, or added to a furniture or mattress delivery.
- Pickup at our Duncan store is free. An item is usually ready about 2 business days after it arrives in Duncan, and we call you when your order is ready.
How long it takes
Most of what you see at our Duncan store is on display so you can sit in it and feel it, and your piece is ordered for you. Typical times until it is ready for pickup or delivery:
- Mattresses: 2 to 3 weeks
- Cabinet beds: 2 to 3 weeks
- Harmony chairs: 3 to 6 weeks
- Ashley: 4 to 6 weeks
- Island Living: 6 to 8 weeks made to order, or 2 to 3 weeks when Island Living has it in stock in Vancouver
- Decor-Rest, Mako and Best: 8 to 10 weeks
- La-Z-Boy sofas and loveseats: 8 to 10 weeks. For La-Z-Boy chairs, ask what we have in stock; custom orders take 8 to 10 weeks
- Pieces already in stock: a few days to about a week
We will give you an honest lead time before you order, and we keep you posted.
If a special order runs late
If a special order slips, we will lend you loaner furniture at no charge while you wait, and we usually offer a discount if you would like to carry on with the order. Cancelling is always an option, though it rarely comes to that.
Your old furniture
We can take away your old furniture when we deliver, from Duncan usually $25 to $50 a piece, and sometimes included; the other stores set their own charge. Just ask.
