Is Cozzia a good massage chair? Where it is made, who backs it in Canada, and who repairs it on the Island

Cozzia is a massage chair brand sold through dealers. Cozzia Canada's answer to where the chairs come from is short: "All of our Cozzia chairs are made in our factory in Xiamen, China". The parent company is Xiamen Comfort Science and Technology. RSS Products, a Canadian owned distributor, brings the chairs into Canada.

Merit Home Furniture sells seven Cozzia massage chair models, from $4,199 to $16,549 before applicable taxes. My answer to whether Cozzia is good: the chairs come with written, model by model warranties and a Canadian support line. The weak spot for anyone on Vancouver Island is in-home repair, which Cozzia guarantees only in major metropolitan areas. Here the repair plan is us.

Is Cozzia a good massage chair brand?

Cozzia earns a yes from me on paper, with one condition. The case for it is all in writing on Cozzia Canada's site. Each model lists its own parts and labour years. During the warranty, Cozzia says parts "will be shipped to you at no charge". Claims go to a Canadian phone line and email, with the serial number and a dated receipt.

The condition is service outside the cities. Cozzia's warranty page says repairs during the warranty are "guaranteed in major metropolitan areas". Duncan, Nanaimo, Campbell River and Port Alberni are not what most people mean by that phrase. After the warranty, Cozzia sells parts "subject to stock availability", and non-warranty repairs carry a "per incident" fee.

Cozzia also states that its customer service "will not issue Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) for products or for buyer's remorse". A chair that disappoints is repaired, never sent back to the maker. That puts the weight on trying a chair first and on the store that sold it.

Warranty years are from each model's page on cozzia.ca. Prices are Merit's, read from our product pages on October 9, 2026, before applicable taxes.

Chair Merit price Parts Labour
Radiance $4,199 2 years 1 year
Bliss ProFlex $4,749 2 years 1 year
Fusion Pro $5,549 2 years 1 year
Zen 2 $6,649 2 years 1 year
Zen Duo $9,799 2 years 2 years
Qi XE Pro Duo $14,349 3 years 3 years
Quantum $16,549 3 years 3 years

Cozzia's warranty starts on the date of purchase, with no extension for delivery. A floor model or demonstration unit is different. Cozzia prorates it from the day a retailer first placed it on the floor and plugged it in. If you're offered a display chair anywhere, ask for that date in writing.

Cozzia's FAQ says every chair can safely hold up to 300 lb, but the Radiance page lists 264 lb. Warranties do not apply to rental or commercial use, and they are non-transferable.

Where Cozzia massage chairs are made, and who stands behind them

Cozzia's chairs are built in Xiamen, China, in the factory Cozzia calls its own. Cozzia's US site says its "marketing, sales, design team, customer service, and executive offices are based in Los Angeles, California". Cozzia Canada's about page adds that its "design team in California works with wellness experts" on the massage programs.

In Canada, the chairs come through RSS Products. RSS describes itself as "Canadian owned and operated" and lists "Cozzia massage chairs" among the brands it distributes. Its phone number, 1-888-270-8538, is the same number printed on Cozzia Canada's warranty page. A warranty call from the Island reaches a Canadian office, during the hours Cozzia gives as "8 AM to 4 PM MST Monday through Friday".

How many years has Cozzia been in business?

Cozzia Canada's FAQ says that "for over 20 years, Cozzia's parent company Xiamen Comfort Science and Technology" has been making seating and wellness products. Its about page credits the 20 years to Cozzia itself. I go with the FAQ's wording, since it names the company. RSS says it has supplied Canadian furniture retailers "for over 10 years". Neither publishes a founding date for Cozzia as a brand, and I won't guess one.

Who repairs a Cozzia chair on Vancouver Island?

Cozzia's in-home repairs run through its "network of authorized service providers", which it says are "available in major metropolitan areas". Its warranty page does not say whether that network reaches the Island. For anyone unsure, Cozzia says to contact it, and that the fix "may include providing self-install parts with step-by-step guidance". A remote control is one repair Cozzia expects owners to do themselves.

Merit's side is simpler. We back the maker's warranty, order the parts and do the repairs, on Cozzia chairs as on everything we sell. Cozzia requires pre-approval for field service and its own authorized personnel. So a Cozzia problem starts with a call to the store that sold the chair, and we take it from there with Cozzia.

For coverage past Cozzia's years, Merit offers SmartOne, an extended plan from Zucora that runs 5 years. A SmartOne plan can be put on a Cozzia chair, as on any other piece we sell.

  1. Keep the dated receipt. Cozzia requires "dated proof of purchase" for every warranty claim.
  2. Write down the serial number. Cozzia asks for it along with the receipt.
  3. Note the delivery date. Coverage runs from purchase, so a late delivery does not add time.
  4. Keep the manual. Cozzia also posts its user manuals online, if the paper copy goes missing.

Controls, foot rollers and room: what the Cozzia chairs differ on

Are Cozzia chairs hard to use?

The controls depend on the model. The Radiance and Bliss ProFlex use a wired LCD remote. The Fusion Pro adds a smart dial on the armrest. The Qi XE Pro Duo and Quantum add offline voice control, and the Quantum runs from a 12.3 inch touch screen. Every model's timer tops out at a 30 minute session, per Cozzia's pages.

Foot rollers on every model

All seven cozzia.ca pages list foot rollers. On the Quantum they combine rollers, air and heat, which Cozzia calls "Tri-Action". Cozzia publishes no pressure figure for any foot roller. Strength is personal, so the only real test is sitting with bare feet on the lowest setting first.

How much room a Cozzia needs

Fully reclined, the chairs run from 66.2 inches long (Radiance) to 79.5 inches (Zen Duo), per Cozzia Canada. Wall clearance runs from 1 inch on the Quantum to 11 inches on the Bliss ProFlex and Fusion Pro. Body size matters as much as floor space, and the fit numbers for each body size have their own guide.

A bigger number on the label (2D, 3D, 4D, 5D) describes how the rollers move. It does not promise a better massage for your back. The difference between those roller labels is worth reading before paying for the next step up.

Cozzia or Osaki, older Cozzias, and who should skip the brand

We don't carry Osaki, so I can't compare the two from our own showroom. Nor have I found a published failure rate for Cozzia. Reliability is hard to judge from outside, and the warranty years in writing are the best evidence a buyer has. Whatever two brands you weigh, compare the parts years, the labour years, and who does in-home repair in your town.

An older or second-hand Cozzia carries more risk than a new one. Cozzia's warranties do not transfer to a second owner, and parts after the warranty depend on stock.

Cozzia is the wrong brand for anyone over 300 lb, or over 264 lb on the Radiance. It is also wrong for a rental suite or a clinic, and for anyone counting on sending a chair back to the maker. Merit encourages exchanges up to 30 days, case by case, but Cozzia itself takes nothing back. If you have a medical condition, ask your doctor before using any massage chair.

Buying a Cozzia from Merit on the Island

All seven Cozzia chairs sell through our Duncan store, and the full Cozzia range with prices is online. Call first to ask which chairs are set up to sit in. Delivery from Duncan is $150 across the Island, assembly included. The other stores' delivery terms can differ, so ask the one nearest you.

Our massage chair line-up shows the seven side by side. Further massage chair reading is on one page, and the chairs are listed with prices. The case for buying close to home rests largely on a warranty repair and who answers for it.
